Angelo gives a deal to Dean
With the Ross Nixon murder case, Angelo is going nowhere, so he decides to concentrate his attention on Dean in the hope of a breakthrough. In private, cornering Dean, Angelo reveals that he is well aware of the guilt of Colby and completely intends to prove it.
By offering leniency, Angelo gives Dean a way out if he cooperates with the police investigation and betrays Colby. As he realizes that his best friend might be considering it, Colby is horrified, and Willow appears to be on the side of Dean by defending his decision to look at the alternatives.
Angelo’s history is being used against him by Colby
In the hope of discovering something he can use against his rival, Colby knows that he desperately wants to regain control of the situation, so he delves into Angelo’s history. When he discovers an old newspaper story about how Angelo once screwed up a case by chasing the wrong guy, he’s pleased.
In order to make a formal case against Angelo, Colby uses this as leverage, alleging that the detective has threatened him and his family. When he learns what Colby has done, Angelo is livid and their tensions almost spark a brawl on the sand.
Colby admits to his affair with Colby
Bella continues her attempts to give Colby some meaning, wanting him to end his relationship with Taylor once and for all. She points out that any further insider knowledge about the Ross inquiry is unlikely to be disclosed by Taylor.
Colby surprises Bella by revealing that, regardless of what’s going on with the Ross case, he has now truly fallen for Taylor and wants them to remain together. Bella is nervous to know that true emotions are in the mix now.
Tori is afraid of losing Christian.
Tori is torn with Christian over her romantic chemistry, questioning if she’s prepared for a new relationship. Leah tells her not to be so cynical about the case.
She’s surprised to see him having a meal with Jasmine at Salt, just when Tori seems able to talk things over with Christian. Tori is afraid that Christian may already be moving on and begins to see him as a player.
An alert from Tori is received by Jasmine
Tori sees that the friendly link between Jasmine and Christian continues at work the next day. As a result, she’s frosty towards Jasmine and gives her a vague note not to make bad choices.
Jasmine is confused by the warning from Tori, before Justin tells her about Tori’s feelings for Christian and how she felt about seeing them at Salt the previous night together. By maintaining that she is not interested in Christian, Jas is swift to set the record straight with Tori and to prove that, she seeks to bring the pair closer together.
Dean’s bid scares away Amber
Dean knows that Amber has financial battles and offers to help, wanting to contribute to the education of Jai. Amber stubbornly, fearing that he has an ulterior motive, refuses to take any money from him.
Willow attempts to make Amber understand the Dean has genuine motives, but it won’t be an easy task to persuade her to see this.
Owen takes the decision to leave Summer Bay
Owen is eager to travel again and plans to begin by taking a trip to the grave of Evan. Roo is surprised by this because she wonders what their relationship entails. When Owen knows how Roo feels, he explains that he wants her to come with him.
Roo agrees to join Owen on his next journey, but it’s a poignant moment for Ryder as they head out of Summer Bay, as he saw Evan leave with Roo in very different circumstances just a few weeks earlier.
As he returns, Ari needs answers,
Following his trip abroad, Ari returns to Summer Bay and needs answers from Mac about the future of their relationship. He’s keen on some devotion, just for the sake of it, Mac doesn’t want to tell him what he needs to hear.
Feeling like nothing’s changed, Ari blames Tane for his relationship’s troubled condition. Tane seems to be bearing the brunt of the complaints of others, as Mac is still irritated with him.
Bella has Nikau dumped
When Bella attempts to pull him into her plans to separate Colby and Taylor, Nikau becomes irritated. He doesn’t want to get involved, so as she sees his behavior as a huge betrayal, Bella hastily dumps him.
Nikau looks to Ryder for help, but it’s difficult because, without exposing Colby’s major secrets, he can’t say anything about the reasons for their break-up. Ari and Tane want Nikau to open up as well, but he’s faced with the same problem and stays silent.
Tane breaks ties with Mac
Rather than obsessing too much about engagement and what the future holds, Mac eventually makes progress with Ari by persuading him to concentrate on having fun with their relationship.
She’s stunned when Tane hands in his resignation from Salt and reveals that he wants to leave immediately, just as it seems that Mac has sorted things out. Tane sees this as his best chance to make a clean break, but what is Mac going to make of it?
Return of Justin’s Symptoms
After his surgery, Justin seems to be making a successful recovery, but he tells Ziggy that he won’t be able to return to work for another five weeks. Ziggy decides to keep the fort in the garage, but Justin fears that the workload will not be manageable for her.
Alf plans a trip of his own
Alf also plans to take some time away from the bay in the aftermath of Roo’s temporary departure. He is unsure what to do when Martha invites him to join her in Marimbula, but Marilyn and Ryder persuade him to go.
In Alf’s absence, Ryder and Marilyn promise to stay together. After the devastating loss of Evan, Alf and Marilyn are both happy to see how Ryder is changing.
