This week, Home and Away aired six new episodes in Australia, as the love lives of the Parata family became ever more complex, and the investigation into the Ross Nixon murder continued to keep everyone on their toes.
After the most recent Summer Bay drama, here are seven big questions we’ve been left with.
is Tane cutting ties with Mac?
This week, Tane eventually lost patience with the continuing love triangle, when both Mac and Ari blamed him for their most recent relationship issues.
Ultimately, Mac and Ari worked things out, but Tane was fed up with being the sentimental punching bag to everyone. He concluded it was easier to keep his distance from Mac and hence, without giving warning, left his job at Salt.
Tane was seen flirting with Ziggy a short time before this decision, and while she declined his advances, we know they’ll start working together next week at the garage.
Paparazzi photos taken in Palm Beach have also shown that Tane and Ziggy are destined to become a couple in the end (sorry, Dean). So what does Mac mean by all this? Will Tane get her out of his head finally?
Will Dean regret not taking Angelo’s deal?
When Angelo encouraged him to say the truth, guaranteeing a lenient result for him if he misled Colby, Dean was given a way out of the Ross Nixon saga. He did seem to weigh his options momentarily but eventually concluded that considering their recent tensions, he wanted to remain faithful to Colby.
As Angelo pointedly reminded him of how much he has to lose if he goes to jail, Dean’s offer felt like a crossroads moment, especially now that he has his son Jai in his life.
Might Dean’s allegiance to Colby come back, in the long run, to haunt him, though? By reporting Angelo to the police for assault, Colby tried to retake power for everyone’s sake, but it’s impossible to deter the murder case from gaining momentum in the coming weeks.
Will Taylor ever discover Colby’s secrets?
As his covert friendship with Taylor is no longer just a trick to keep tabs on Angelo and the probe, Colby’s adultery has now taken a big twist. He dropped the revelation that he had formed true feelings for Taylor and had no intention of finishing things when Bella asked Colby why he was persisting with the reckless fling.
The announcement of Colby now makes the unfolding story even more complex, with real emotions in the balance now. Taylor is unaware that Colby has already had an ulterior motive to pursue her, and she still has no idea that her hidden boyfriend is a murderer. Through figuring out what Colby is hiding, is it just a matter of time before Taylor turns the tables?
Are Dean and Amber heading for a battle?
Dean and Amber battle successfully with co-parent Jai. First off, when Dean had to carry Jai to the hospital with an ear infection, they collided. This was because Amber, who was out clubbing, didn’t respond to her phone and didn’t wake up again until the next morning.
When Dean tried to financially support her and Jai, Amber also became insulted, clearly insisting that they did not need his assistance. Next week, as Dean wants his mother Karen to visit Jai, they both find themselves at odds again, but Amber says no.
Is it only a matter of time before this current situation turns ugly with Dean trying to take more of an active part in Jai’s life and Amber receiving mixed signals about this?
Will we see Owen again?
This week, Cameron Daddo left the Bay again, when Owen wanted to take a ride with his new character and asked Roo to join him. For Ryder, this proved to be an unsettling moment, since it was just a few weeks before that he saw Roo leaving the Bay with his terminally ill father Evan, the identical twin of Owen, who has since died.
Roo is likely to be back in Summer Bay, but she’s hoping to keep her latest Owen relationship alive. When she finally returns, will Owen be with her?
Will Nikau and Bella reunite?
For Nikau and Bella, another week, another relationship drama. When Bella bitterly dumped him, Nikau was left heartbroken, annoyed that he was not helping her in her continuing mission to tear Colby and Taylor up.
Nikau wanted Bella to rest and not get involved, but she viewed his behavior as a lack of allegiance and forced him further stubbornly.
Afterward, the breakup left Nikau in an emotional state as he followed Ryder’s guidance, so it’s clear that Bella really means the world to him. It’s still far from the couple’s first crisis-every second week they seem to split up-so surely it’s not the end?
Is Justin’s health still a concern?
Justin praised the apparent success of the procedure, especially after getting some positive test results, to remove the tumor from his spine. However, when he started to struggle with his hand and grew visibly worried, Thursday’s triple bill finished with a potentially ominous cliffhanger.
Justin knows next week that to find out what’s going on, particularly as his current symptoms begin, he wants to see Dr. Green again. Might it be that the surgery did not have the outcome everyone had wished for?
