Sally Metcalfe of Coronation Street promises to abandon the cobbles after another row with her wicked father-in-law, Geoff, next week.
Sally (Sally Dynevor) knows that after the schemer’s spiteful side appears again, she can’t continue living so close to Geoff.
As Faye Windass ‘s boyfriend prepares to pay a visit, next week’s episodes see Sally decide to hold an impromptu garden party.
Unfortunately, like Sally, her husband Tim, Faye, and Debbie Webster all eagerly await the arrival of Faye’s love interest, suddenly Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) appears in the next-door garden and tries his best to disrupt their gathering.
Tim is frustrated at the petty antics of his dad and Debbie urges him to take revenge. Tim, unable to resist, takes up an ice bucket and has his father soaked.
Later on, when she purposefully attempts to make the tensions even worse, Debbie makes a shocking move of her own.
Debbie calls Number 6 and informs Geoff that he is being slagged off by Sally. Geoff sees red over this, livid, and it’s not long until Sally and Tim spot him wielding a spade in fury.
Pleased by her stirring performance, Debbie tells Sally that if she had to live next door to someone like Geoff, she couldn’t cope.
It’s becoming a real issue, Sally admits, and soon informs Tim that she’s putting the house up for sale, wanting them to make a new start away from Geoff.
Sally is delighted to be given the full asking price for Number 4 after putting her latest strategy into effect.
Abi Franklin is worried that they could leave Sally and Tim, but Debbie encourages them to accept the offer.
The new plot looks set to make Ray Crosby and his sick scheme to purchase Coronation Street, one property at a time, the next target for Sally and Tim. How long would it take anyone to realize that Ray is planning to put the bulldozers in?
