Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) has been living on borrowed time ever since detective Angelo Rosetta (Luke Jacobz) returned to Summer Bay, the resident copy of Home and Away.
Last year, Colby shot dead Ross Nixon after Ross abducted Colby’s sister Bella (Courtney Miller), wife Chelsea (Ashleigh Brewer), and friend Willow (Sarah Roberts) in dramatic scenes in the long-running soap.
Although Colby has so far managed to escape the repercussions of his acts, murder can only remain hidden for so long, and it seems like the Summer Bay favorite’s time has come to face the music in a new Home and Away teaser.
The clips tease Colby, confessing everything to Angelo, whose investigation of the case has been relentless since arriving back in town, with a mysterious “Witness X”.
“I have picked aside. I’m ready to talk,’ a mysterious voice can be heard saying, while Colby, who is seen languishing behind bars after being arrested by Angelo, seems like there’s no way out of this dilemma.
And who is the traitorous Witness X, exactly?
Bella Nixon, Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor), Willow Harris, Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman), Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo), and Taylor (Annabel Stephenson) are among the suspects, all probable given their interpretation of Colby’s crime, according to the teaser.
Since he helped Colby bury the body, Dean may also be in the firing line.
Some fans of Home and Away are also persuaded that Colby’s ex-wife Chelsea will return to point a finger at her former husband after a recent picture of the actress appeared on co-star Sam Frost’s Instagram.
Earlier this year, Colby’s murder of Ross suddenly reemerged when Angelo, who left Summer Bay in 2011, returned to town.
The decaying corpse of Ross was found in the sea, and Angelo was summoned to investigate.
“I never thought it would be my homecoming to investigate a murder,” confessed Angelo on his return.
Ironically, like Colby, Angelo was also a Summer Bay policeman responsible for a murder that he was never prosecuted for.
The unsavory way the Summer Bay was written out, leaving town after killing fan-favorite Jack (Paul O’Brien) and they don’t let Luke Jacobz, the actor behind the character, forget it. Some die-hard fans still remember.
“People love to hate Angelo. He wasn’t the most famous character, and that’s all right because of the show’s past and all the people he was upset about,’ he told in September.
“I thought most of the answers were positive, but then I got some people going too: ‘Why are you back in the Bay, you’re not supposed to be there! You killed Jack!'”
