Ben Turland has made a major impression since his Neighbours role as Hendrix Greyson.
In 2019, the 23-year-old actor joins the Australian soap as the bad boy son of corporate magnate Pierce.
He arrived in Erinsborough after being expelled from boarding school, and the character has since been involved in a number of juicy plotlines.
Fans of the programme are familiar with Hendrix’ antics on Ramsay Street, but little is known about the actor who plays him.
So let’s have a peek at Ben’s life before Neighbours and what he does in his spare time.
Ben is a dancer too
The actor also has a serious dance pedigree.
Ben, who grew up in Mittagong, New South Wales, has been dancing for many years and performed on the show Young Talent Time with his dance company in 2012.
He went on to land a number of dance jobs, and not long after, he performed on Australia’s Got Talent.
The actress auditioned for the show in 2014 and advanced to the semi-finals.
While competing on the competition, he got a “big type of realisation,” he told Radio Times in 2020.
“I realised that even if you try your hardest, you might not be at the right place,” he explained.
“So I started seriously pursuing acting after that because I figured you might not go down the path you think you’re going to go down.”
“However, it was a lot of fun.” I wasn’t attending to school much because I was dancing full-time 3-4 days a week.”
Ben did a stint in Home And Away
Ben had already acted in another Australian soap opera, Home And Away, before joining Neighbours.
In 2016, the actor played one of his most important first screen parts in the show.
Jordan Walsh, a foster child of John and Marilyn Chambers, was his role.
Ben featured in the soap for several episodes.
During his off time, the actor appears to like getting back to nature and letting off steam.
He has multiple Instagram photos of himself at the sea, exploring caverns, and rock climbing.
One recent photo of the singer having a refreshing bath at the bottom of a breathtaking waterfall wowed fans.
One user said in the comments section, “Now that is an adventure,” while another thought he looked “amazing.”
“Oi Hollywood, if you’re looking for a new Tarzan, take a look at these pictures,” one of his fans joked.
Nights out with friends
When Ben isn’t working, he also lets his social media fans in on nights out and vacations with friends.
He shared photos of himself soaking in the sun on a trip with three friends last year.
The trio was photographed carrying drinks as they posed by the sea, all dressed up for a night out.
The actor’s fans were thrilled to get a glimpse of his downtime.
“Legends right here!” one wrote in the comments section, while another said Ben looked “hot”.
Star is close to Neighbours cast
During his time on Neighbours, Ben has been close to a number of people he has met.
He and actor Tim Robards, who played his character’s father Pierce, are said to be good friends, and Tim has been on Ben’s grid on several occasions.
Tim said in a message on social media in 2019 that he was thankful to the soap for “giving me a son”.
